Here is a little story from my visit to England this week. I picked up a new guitar from Liam Romanillos. I had to wait for 14 years.
The instruments are almost never on the market either as new or used.
Romanillos is considered just one of the great artists in the history of guitar building. I played the guitar of Jose Romanillo for the first time in 1973. The direct response, the dynamics and the woody sound hit me directly in the solar plexus. I ordered a guitar right away. It was a two year wait and the price was £ 50.

I picked up the instrument in Wiltshire, England 3 years later in 1976. Jose had his studio in the garden of guitarist Julian Breame's garden. In the garden there was an old stable that had been built into a workshop.

Since then I have always had a guitar on order and now a days I picked up my 4th guitar. Nowadays, Liam, Jose's son, builds the guitars. As you can see, it is a rare beautiful instrument.
